Porthmadog Golf Course.

Located about a mile from where they filmed the TV series ‘The Prisoner’. Designed by James Braid the Course is made up of two distinct halves. The front nine are away from the coast and although the soil is and the terrain is more accurately described as heathland – though water makes an appearance on 5 of these holes.

The back nine head for the sea, and some beautiful scenery, and the course is transformed into pure links that have been likened to a miniature Troon.

Nefyn & District Golf Course.

As they say, a picture paints a thousand words and no hole in the world confronts the golfer with the distractions to be met on the par five 12th at Nefyn. It has a blind drive, a blind second shot, a crater-sized pothole and a public thoroughfare and a public house.

Ian Woosnam ranks it among his favourites and I think still holds the club record with a 67?
